GHICL’s healthcare professionals are committed to participating in clinical trials to:
The Clinical Research and Innovation Division’s Investigation Unit is located on the Saint Philibert and Saint Vincent de Paul sites. This multidisciplinary team is made up of: Clinical Research Nurses (CRN) and Clinical Research Associates (CRA) under the coordination of the head of the unit (Investigation Coordinator).
The role of the unit is to coordinate clinical trials (national or international trials sponsored by GHICL, institutions or the industry) and the patient care pathway with the participation of all healthcare providers, including medical doctors, pharmacists and paramedical staff. This teamwork benefits patients by offering new care management opportunities.
Our goals : to encourage, structure and coordinate research
To set up a project, we must first assess its feasibility, its clinical relevance and the benefit/risk ratio for the patient. We meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
The CRAs and CRNs provide know-how, expertise, advice and support in relation to regulations and organisation, to facilitate the running and quality of the clinical trials.
Thanks to a relationship of trust with the healthcare teams and doctors/researchers, we are able to diversify the clinical trials and help to strengthen the teamwork.
One of the main long-term goals of our team is to open a unit of beds specifically for clinical trial patients.
In 2021, 1,000 patients were recruited and able to benefit from one out of 236 studies.
The Investigation Unit is here for you if you wish to develop your research or if your department has a project to propose.
